Junior Fundraising Officer

Geneva Headquarters
Full-time
Permanent employee

Job Description

The Junior Fundraising Officer supports the day-to-day operations of FSD’s fundraising department and reports directly to the Fundraising Manager. The role works closely with colleagues across the fundraising, communications and operations teams, and is responsible for maintaining regular contact with donors while contributing to the smooth and efficient running of fundraising activities. A significant part of the position focuses on the administrative follow-up of donations and database
management. This includes validating daily transactions, reconciling and identifying donations received through different channels, updating and enriching donor records, checking the quality of digital data and ensuring that overall data is correctly reflected in reports and in the CRM. The role also includes archiving donation forms and supporting accurate data handling in line with internal fundraising processes.

The Junior Fundraising Officer also provides logistical and administrative support to fundraising operations. This includes coordinating material requests, organising orders in a cost-effective manner, tracking inventory, monitoring expenses linked to the allocated budget, managing fundraising mail dispatch, and preparing data extracts for internal needs. The role may also support the development of communications and collaterals for agencies.

In collaboration with the Fundraising Manager and the Head of Fundraising,
the employee contributes to donor acquisition and retention efforts, including identifying and qualifying potential partners for direct marketing and street fundraising activities, supporting partnership prospecting, preparing outreach materials, monitoring campaign performance, and contributing to the implementation of donor retention and cultivation campaigns. The role also participates in fundraising and communication meetings, reports on relevant KPIs, and supports other fundraising-related activities as required by management.

The position is based at FSD Headquarters in Geneva. Due to the nature of the role, which involves regular handling of sensitive donor data as well as administrative tasks requiring physical presence, no home office is permitted. The role follows office working hours aligned with switchboard coverage and may require flexibility depending on operational needs.
